Office of Undergraduate Admissions Scholarships

  • IUP Office of Admissions Scholarship Guidelines

    • Academic scholarships are awarded to incoming freshman starting in the late fall through the early spring.
    • There is NO scholarship application required.
    • Incoming freshman applicants are automatically considered for scholarships based upon their high school GPA and SAT/ACT results.
    • Academic scholarships are competitive, with only 15 percent of IUP students receiving academic scholarship awards.
    • Incoming transfer applicants are automatically considered for the Crimson and Silver Transfer Scholarship once students have made an official campus visit.

The scholarships listed below are for new incoming students:

    Board of Governors Scholarship

Board of Governors Scholarships are awarded each year to academically talented freshman students from Pennsylvania who have demonstrated high academic achievement. Board of Governors Scholarships are awarded through the Sutton Scholars program and the Promising Scholars program.

    Crimson and Silver Transfer Scholarship

The Admissions Office recognizes exceptional incoming transfer students with the Crimson and Silver Transfer Scholarship.

    Out-of-State Students

The Admissions Office recognizes the academic accomplishments of out-of-state students by offering a tuition discount to qualified students. The Non-Pennsylvania Resident Discount is intended to make IUP more affordable for out-of-state students.
