    The Pittsburgh Foundation — Scholarship Opportunities

    The Pittsburgh Foundation is the seventeenth largest community foundation in the country. Since 1945, it has worked to improve the quality of life in the Pittsburgh region by evaluating and addressing community issues, promoting charitable giving, and connecting donors to the critical needs of the community. Numerous scholarship opportunities are available for students enrolled at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

    Ford Foundation Diversity Fellowships

    Ford Foundation Diversity Fellowships are designed to increase the diversity of the nation’s college and university faculties by increasing their ethnic and racial diversity, to maximize the educational benefits of diversity, and to increase the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students.

    ​University Tutor

    University Tutor helps students find the right tutor to achieve academic results.  The program will conduct a scholarship essay contest by posting a monthly essay prompt located at the UniversityTutor Website.  To enter, eligible participants must log on to the Website and submit a 300 word essay in response to the monthly prompt.  Winners of the contest will be awarded up to $1,000.

    Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF)

    The Hispanic Scholarship Fund offers various scholarship programs for Hispanic American undergraduate and graduate students enrolled full time in degree-seeking programs. During its thirty-two-year history, HSF has awarded more than 82,000 scholarships in excess of $221 million to Latino students. Scholarship awards generally range from $1,000 to $3,000.     JPMorgan Chase/UNCF Corporate Scholars Programs

    The JPMorgan Chase/UNCF Corporate Scholars Program has been established to increase minority student interest in JPMorgan Chase and expand the company’s pool of minority employees. Scholars participate in eight- to ten-week paid internships and receive financial need-based scholarships up to $10,000. Eligible students are sophomore and junior students seeking a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, computer information systems, economics, engineering, finance, marketing, mathematics, operations management, or software engineering and must have a minimum GPA of 3.2.     Wal-Mart Foundation Scholarships

    Varsity Tutors Scholarship

    Varsity Tutors offers a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest to students who write the best essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage will be able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes will be reviewed by Varsity Tutors and one winner will be chosen who will receive a $1,000 college scholarship.     Thrivent Federal Credit Union is awarding 50 scholarships to eligible students. You do not have to be a credit union member or customer to enter.

    McKee Scholars

    The Estate of John McKee, through the McKee Scholarship Committee, offers scholarships for college or vocational training to high school seniors or graduates (not over age 19 years at the time of the application) who meet all of the following criteria: (a) fatherless boys (i.e., whose biological or lost adoptive father is actually dead or has been declared missing by a competent authority) of any race; "missing" may also include permanently absent, dysfunctional, and not functioning as a father to the applicant; (b) in need of financial assistance; and (c) native to the five-county Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia).     Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation — Wildlife Leadership Awards

    The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s Wildlife Leadership Awards Program was established to recognize, encourage, and promote leadership among future wildlife management professionals. Each year, the Elk foundation awards up to ten $2,000 scholarships to outstanding college juniors and seniors studying in a wildlife-related natural resource program.     Pennsylvania Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (PRAEF) Scholarship Program

    The Pennsylvania Restaurant Association Educational Foundation offers scholarships to graduating high school seniors furthering their education in the hospitality industry and to students currently enrolled in an accredited Hospitality Culinary Arts program in an accredited post-secondary institution. Deadline for submission: March 1 annually

    HubShout Internet Marketing Scholarship

    Students who have completed at least one year of post-secondary education and are working toward a career in online marketing are invited to apply for the HubShout Scholarship. A scholarship will be awarded to two students ($1,000 each) who have at least a 3.0 GPA and can best demonstrate a passion for online marketing. Deadline for submission: November 1 annually

    Suzanne M. Lynch Memorial Scholarship

    The Suzanne M. Lynch memorial scholarship was created to assist interior design majors who are completing their junior year at one of the following colleges: IUP, LaRoche College, Mercyhurst College, Carlow College, or the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and demonstrate financial need. Deadline for submission: March 31 annually

    John Family Health Careers Scholarship

    The John Family Health Careers Scholarship at Evangelical Community Hospital provides 4 annual awards of $5,000 to students entering college for the purpose of pursuing a career as a respiratory therapist, medical technologist, medical imaging technologist, clinical laboratory scientist, or cytotechnologist. Applicants must have a diploma or equivalent from high schools in Union, Snyder, or Northumberland counties, Pennsylvania. Deadline for submission: April 1 annually

    Joseph A. Holmes Safety Association Scholarship

    The Joseph A. Holmes Safety Association endeavors to promote health and safety within the mining industry. This scholarship shall be open to persons currently employed or who are pursuing careers in the mining industry, safety, and health fields. High school graduates, undergraduates, and graduate students currently enrolled in a college or university are all eligible to apply. Deadline for submission: April 1 annually

    Albertson & Davidson, LLP College Scholarship

    At Albertson & Davidson, LLP, we understand that college can place a tremendous financial strain on both students and their families.  As a result, we are offering a $2,500 annual scholarship to a current or prospective college student.  In order to participate applicants must be attending or planning to attend a college or university in the Fall 2015, must be in good academic standing, and write a wri​tten essay.

    Karman Healthcare Scholarship Fund

    ​Karman Healthcare is proud to announce that they will be providing high school, college, and university students with a scholarship opportunity to help them reach their ultimate goals in life.  The scholarship will apply to students who have a mobility disability, have excelled academically and to those who have a regard for disability awareness in America.  The theme to earn one of two $500 scholarships is to create a presentation of why disability awarenenss is important.  The entries can include essays and poems.  Students must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university, aged 16 or older, have a mobility disability that is used on a regular basis, and maintain a GPA of at least 2.5.

    The 1800wheelchair scholarship awards two $500 scholarships each year. In the past, they have asked applicants to explore mobility issues on campus, overcoming personal challenges and much more.     AES Engineers Scholarship

    AES Engineers believes that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason they are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluating the essays that are submitted. Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility. You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible. Students must submit an essay of between 500 and 1,000 words in answer to the following question: Reflecting on your personal experiences and/or circumstances, tell us something about yourself that distinguishes you as a potential scholarship candidate.     FishFinder is aiming to support and contribute to higher education and learning by offering a scholarship to assist with tuition and book expenses.  Any undergraduate enrolled in a two or four year college or vocational school within the United States is welcome to apply.     The Noyce Scholarship

    The Noyce Scholarship is sponsored by the Collaborative for Excellence in Teacher Preparation in Pennsylvania with the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. The scholarship is intended for undergraduate and graduate students majoring in science or mathematics who intend to teach in a "high need" school. The maximum award is $10,000 annually. Deadline for submission: April 20 for Fall Awards; October 20 Spring Awards
