A student chalking the walk in the Oak Grove with the IUP Performing Arts Center in the background

This event has been rescheduled on account of the weather for Friday, April 29.

Do you have something to say? Something you want to express, or just share with other people? Join us in the Oak Grove for the annual Chalk-on-the-Walk Sidewalk Chalk contest. We'll provide the chalk (and prizes!), and you can make any social, political, or other comment that you want.

Start creating comments at 9:00 a.m.—judging begins at 4:00 p.m. This year the first prize is $100.

Awards are given for communicating an idea, and all registered IUP students are eligible. Free T-shirts for all participants!

The 2022 Chalk the Walk will bring back the My IUP Words video project.

All members of the community are invited to pick one or more words to describe what IUP means to them. Participants will then write those words on chalkboards and be photographed and filmed with their IUP word or words. Participants will then be invited to chalk their IUP word or words on the IUP logo that will be chalked on the flagstones in front of Fisher Auditorium.

Chalk-on-the-Walk is sponsored by the College of Arts and Humanities, the Lively Arts, the National Art Education Association, the Artists Hand, and the Division of Marketing and Communications.
