Jialei Jiang, PhD candidate in English Composition and Applied Linguistics, has published an article in Computers and Composition: An International Journal.
"I Never Know What to Expect': Aleatory Identity Play in Fortnite and Its Implications for Multimodal Composition" explores the random, or aleatory, assignment of Fortnite avators, and its affect on players' gameplay experience of identity de/territorialization.
Jiang also argues that such random play has the potential to inform critical pedagogies and multimodal composition.
