Academic Interests

Sharon Deckert's research focuses on the semiotic mechanisms and processes that are used to construct identities in ongoing interactions. In particular, she has focused on how individuals co-construct identities that function for particular purposes. Her work includes examinations for how children co-construct identities with adults in forensic interviews.
