TheScience Discovery and Outdoor Learning Center is open to the public, except on days that it has been reserved. Please walk in anytime and enjoy our facility.
Weekdays: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.- Weekends: Not open, but available by reservation
- Winter Break: The center is closed from Thanksgiving break through spring break.
Reserve the Center for Class or Event
The Discovery Center is open to use for all.
You must book the Center if you need to use it exclusively. To schedule the Center for a class, group work, or meeting, please contact Felicia Daniel at fdaniel@iup.edu.

Celebrate the importance of environmental education by making a gift to the Science Discovery and Outdoor Learning Center. Your gift of $150 or more can be used to honor a loved one or recognize a significant milestone. Get More Information About the Science Discovery and Outdoor Learning Center
Located in the courtyard of Stouffer Hall, the IUP Science Discovery and Outdoor Learning Center is one of the most versatile learning areas on campus. This 7,150-square-foot learning area was designed to create an outdoor learning environment not only for prospective teacher educators that want to teach science, but also as a resource for the region's teachers and elementary and middle-school students.
State-of-the-Art Technology Facility
The facility consists of a large pavilion with seating for instructional presentations, projection and presentation equipment, and cabinets for storage of materials.
