Indiana University of Pennsylvania is pleased to announce the availability of the Karl A. McDermott Scholarship for Economics.
Karl A. McDermott received a BA in economics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, an MA in economics from the University of Wyoming, and a PhD in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. McDermott is the Ameren Distinguished
Professor of Business and Government at the University of Illinois at Springfield. In addition to this appointment, he is also a special consultant with NERA Economic Consulting. McDermott specializes in public utility regulation and served as Commissioner
(1992–1998) on the Illinois Commerce Commission.
The Karl A. McDermott Scholarship for Economics shall be awarded annually to students enrolled full-time at Indiana University of Pennsylvania majoring in Economics based on the established criteria, with preference given to eligible female students.
Selection of recipients for the Karl A. McDermott Scholarship for Economics shall be made by the Student Affairs Committee of the Department of Economics.
Review of completed application packets will begin the first week in March and continue until the scholarship is awarded.
