Jeffords Co-Contributes to United Nations Report on Implementing Environmental Rights

Chris Jeffords (Department of Economics) and Josh Gellers (University of North Florida) submitted a brief report outlining the reasons why countries adopt constitutional environmental rights provisions and the subsequent effects said provisions have (or do not have) on environmental outcomes.

In a forthcoming paper, economics professor Chris Jeffords, along with Lanse Minkler, of the University of Connecticut, quantifies the effects of having a constitutional environmental rights (CER) provision on environmental outcomes.

Forthcoming in the Handbook of Globalization and Development, Christopher Jeffords provides an outline of the origins of economic and social rights found within the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights.
