When linking to content on the CMS, use a quicklink, every time.
We understand that the interface for creating quicklinks can be frustrating, and that it is much quicker to simply type in the URL you want. But that creates two problems:
Mistyped URLs: the Digital Team sees content every day with mistyped URLs, URLs that lead to staging, or URLs that contain tracking information that was meant for e-mail use only. Use the quicklink system and you’ll get a link that works.
Changing URLs: The URLs of our pages may change from time to time. Departments change names. Web maintainers choose different templates. Using a quicklink insulates you from all that: no matter where the page moves to, or what its URL changes to, the quicklink will still work.
