Faculty members don’t have to be web maintainers to post news items.
If your faculty or staff use the “Suggest a News Item” form, available at the top right of each news page, their submissions will end up in your web maintainers’ approval queue, ready for editing and posting.
That last part (“submissions will end up in your web maintainers’ approval queue”) is important to keep in mind. Submitted news items do not automatically appear on your news feed. One of your web approvers will need to approve it first (and possibly augment it).
Make sure all of your faculty know how to use the suggest a news item form.
