IUP Scholarships for Culinary Students

  • IUP Culinary Scholarships can help you get even more value for your education dollar! No separate scholarship application is required to apply for IUP Culinary Scholarships. All culinary applicants who complete the Culinary Admissions Application will be automatically considered.

    $3,000 Punxsutawney Area College Trust Honors Scholarship

     Qualifications include:

    • Official SAT or ACT scores
    • Academic excellence (Minimum GPA of 3.0)
    • Employment, educational, or volunteer experiences in the food service industry

    The Punxsutawney Area College Trust Honors Scholarship recognizes well-rounded individuals who are able to meet challenges head on. Favorable consideration is given to applicants who ultimately want to pursue a BS degree in Hospitality Management or Food and Nutrition. 

    $3,000 High Achievers Scholarship

    Qualifications include:

    • High level of academic achievement (Minimum GPA of 3.0)
    • Participation in school, community, or professional activities or associations

    Scholarships will be given to students who have been able to blend academics with career-minded employment and/or professional or school organization involvement. Special consideration will be given to applicants who have chosen to devote their time and effort to educationally valuable experiences gained outside of the classroom.

    $1,500 Aramark Sponsored Scholarship for IUP Culinary Students

    Aramark, a leading provider of food and support services to colleges, universities, and preparatory schools, is sponsoring a $1,500 scholarship to recognize an individual who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the culinary industry. Qualifications include:

    • Past or current work experience in the culinary field
    • Recommendation from employer or culinary teacher

    The recipient of this scholarship will be focused on career advancement in the culinary field. Particular attention will be given to applicants who have worked in the food service industry, hold memberships in industry-related clubs or organizations, have participated in special functions and/or events (such as a culinary competition), or provided volunteer services in a food-related capacity.

    $1,500 Nemacolin Woodlands Scholarship for IUP Culinary Students

    Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, one of only 21 hotels and resorts in the world to host AAA Five-Diamond lodging and dining, is sponsoring a $1,500 scholarship to recognize an individual who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the culinary industry. Qualifications include:

    • Past or current work experience in the culinary field
    • Recommendation from employer or culinary teacher

    The recipient of this scholarship will be focused on career advancement in the culinary field. Particular attention will be given to applicants who have worked in the food service industry, hold memberships in industry-related clubs or organizations, have participated in special functions and/or events (such as a culinary competition), or provided volunteer services in a food-related capacity.

    $1,500 Ocean Reef Club Scholarship for IUP Culinary Students

    Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Florida, one of America’s most exclusive club communities, is sponsoring a $1,500 scholarship to recognize an individual who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the culinary industry. Qualifications include:

    • Past or current work experience in the culinary field
    • Recommendation from employer or culinary teacher

    The recipient of this scholarship will be focused on career advancement in the culinary field. Particular attention will be given to applicants who have worked in the food service industry, hold memberships in industry-related clubs or organizations, have participated in special functions and/or events (such as a culinary competition), or provided volunteer services in a food-related capacity.

    $1,500 Springfield Restaurant Group Scholarship for IUP Culinary Students

    The Springfield Restaurant Group, which includes eight restaurants in western Pennsylvania and Ohio, is sponsoring a $1,500 scholarship to recognize an individual who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the culinary industry. Qualifications include:

    • Past or current work experience in the culinary field
    • Recommendation from employer or culinary teacher

    The recipient of this scholarship will be focused on career advancement in the culinary field. Particular attention will be given to applicants who have worked in the food service industry, hold memberships in industry-related clubs or organizations, have participated in special functions and/or events (such as a culinary competition), or provided volunteer services in a food-related capacity.

    Scholarships for Culinary Competitors

    Students competing in culinary and baking categories in the organizations below are eligible to receive this scholarship. Students must provide a copy of their award letter or certificate.

    PA FCCLA State Competition

    STAR Events Culinary Arts, first-, second-, and third-place teams, $1,500 each team member
    STAR Events Pastry Arts Baking, first-, second-, and third-place teams, $1,500 each team member

    PRO START National Competition

    Culinary Arts Competition, all competitors, $1,500 each
    Management Competition, all competitors, $1,500 each

    PRO START State Competition

    Culinary Arts Competition, all competitors, $1,500 each
    Management Competition, all competitors, $1,500 each

    SkillsUSA State Competition

    Competitors in Culinary Arts, $1,500 each
    Competitors in Baking and Pastry, $1,500 each

    $4,500 Careers through Culinary Arts Programs (C-CAP) Scholarship

    IUP Academy of Culinary Arts sponsors a $4,500 scholarship awarded to a C-CAP competitor. Scholarship winner will be determined based on the results of CCAP Culinary Arts Competition. Recipients must have applied and be admitted to the IUP Academy of Culinary Arts.
