Each semester, the Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, and Engineering Department at IUP seeks to hire 14 to 16 students to work as laboratory preppers, stockroom assistants, department tutors, student researchers, and a student instrument technician.
All positions require applicants to pass the Chemical Safety Exam before consideration. Pay rates vary by position and experience, with most positions offering $14 per hour.
Interested students must qualify for federal work-study. If you are unsure if you qualify for federal work-study, information and instructions are available. Once eligibility has been confirmed, students can apply for these positions using Hire-A-Hawk by searching "chemistry." Applicants will be selected each August for the fall semester and at the end of each November for the spring semester.
