Carol Washington has served as the chief operating
officer at Life’sWork of Western PA for the past two years in Pittsburgh. Life’sWork of Western PA is a nonprofit
organization whose mission is to increase the quality of life of persons with
disabilities and others with barriers to employment through productive
employment opportunities. Washington manages a P&L of this $3-million
social business venture, with an overall $6.4-million operating budget.
Washington previously served for 15 years as the
executive director of the NorthShore Community Alliance in Pittsburgh, and as
the corporate and student liaison at INROADS Pittsburgh. She began her career with Eckerd Drug as the
regional HR manager in 1995.
Washington is a dynamic professional with more than
22 years of executive leadership experience and extensive background in
strategic planning, board/community relations, fundraising, grant writing, and
donor-based and special events planning. She received the 2013 Women of Excellence Award, sponsored by the New

Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1990. She has a Career Architect Certification from INROADS INC./military
experience, and served as a Specialist – 4 United States Army from 1987 to 1995.
