We understand that you have a lot to plan before you get to campus. We hope this checklist helps you and your family understand the major parts of this process.
Congratulations! You have earned admission to IUP. Make sure that you review the information included in your admission packet regarding your offer. The letter includes your area of study, starting term, and campus or special programs to which you have been admitted. The second page of the letter provides additional information regarding your admission terms, so look at it closely.
In your admission packet, we provided information for you to log into your personalized MyIUP student portal. Through this site, you can explore more about IUP and how students like you can succeed here. Additionally, you will be able to sign up for Experience IUP admitted student event, submit your tuition deposit, sign up for housing, and more.
If you choose IUP, this will remain your portal for accessing just about everything you need to succeed.
If you have misplaced your log in credentials without creating your account, you can complete this form. We will respond during regular business hours.

The FAFSA is available online at fafsa.gov starting October 1. The preferred filing date for IUP is January 15, but students can still submit the FAFSA after this date. We highly encourage all students to complete the FAFSA; this information is used in many ways to help families identify financial aid--loans, scholarships, grants, and work study--that student's may be able to receive. Even if you think you won't qualify, completing the form will help with scholarship opportunities and in case you have a change of circumstances in your family's income.

We have designed our Experience IUP program specifically for admitted students like you! This program provides a wealth of information for you and your family on topics that matter to you. You will get to meet current students and faculty to learn what being an IUP student is really like.
If you are a fine arts student, Experience IUP: Fine Arts is your audition/interview/portfolio review day.
If you choose to attend IUP, log in to MyIUP and choose "Make my deposit." We have complete instructions available on our website.
We request that students make the deposit for Fall admission by May 1 and Spring admissions by November 1. We will always work with students after these dates, space permitting.
If you decide not to attend IUP, please let us know that you are no longer interested by emailing admissions-inquiry@iup.edu.
Room selection for new students starts in November.
Once you have submitted your tuition deposit, you will become eligible for housing–this usually takes 24 hours. You will log into your MyIUP account to accept your contract and select your room. There is an $80 deposit.

All students will participate in the orientation process where they will take placement tests and register for their first semester of coursework. For freshmen, orientation is a two-day process with a concurrent orientation program for parents. Transfer student orientation is a one-day program.
Orientation registration for Fall opens in March, and you will sign up through MyIUP.
Don’t wait until the last minute to submit your Health History and Immunization information to the Health Service. Instructions are available at the Health Service Forms website. Anyone requiring a meningitis vaccination can call the Health Service at 724-357-2550 to schedule an appointment.
Did you take AP exams, IB Exams, A-Level exams, or participate in a dual-enrollment course? Well, make sure you get any college credit coming your way!
If you took any college courses, through dual-enrollment or otherwise, be sure to send us the official college transcript with your final grade(s). We will evaluate the transcript(s) and, if we are able, we will award credits for the coursework.
Check out our overview for first-time students to find out what you need to know about getting credit for exams and dual enrollment courses. You can always check the Credit Evaluation Tool to see if IUP will award you credit for a class.
Through MyIUP, you will have access to your Hawks 101 online course work. Completing these short lessons will help to prepare you to be a successful IUP student! You will learn how to complete online course requirements, and you will be informed on important topics to help you transition successfully.
IUP requires students who have accepted their offer of admission to provide documentation that indicates the student's high school completion status. Once you have completed your high school graduation, be sure to submit your final high school transcript documentation. Failure to do so may affect financial aid and your ability to register for courses.
Students are alerted through their IUP e-mail accounts when semester bills are ready in the IUP EasyPay system. You will access and pay your bill through MyIUP.
Fall bills are generally available in late July. You may contact the Office of the Bursar with questions about billing, payment plans, and related topics.
