Provisional Admission

  • International students can be provisionally admitted to a bachelor’s degree program if all of IUP’s admission requirements are met except for proof of English proficiency.  

    Students with provisional admission can study at the American Language Institute at IUP until they are ready to begin the Bridge program or meet English proficiency requirements for full-time undergraduate study through a language exam.  

    To qualify for the Bridge Program, students must submit a qualifying exam score (TOEFL ITP 480, TOEFL iBT 54, or IELTS 5.0). Bridge students can demonstrate English proficiency for full admission by completing nine credit hours including English 101 with a 2.0 or higher GPA.

    1. Select Undergraduate Application (Online) to log in to the online application and complete your Undergraduate Application.

    2. Submit the $125 application fee online, or submit a cashier’s check to the address below. (You can also request a paper application from this address)

    Other Required Documents

    You will need to submit these documents to the IUP Undergraduate Admissions office.

    • Foreign Student Financial Statement: All international undergraduate students are asked to show that they have enough money to cover the cost of two semesters at IUP on the financial statement, as well as provide a bank statement or letter from their sponsor for the first year at IUP.
    • Official transcripts from high school or other secondary school. If you have completed classes at a college or university, you must also send those transcripts. These documents must be in English and have the official seal of the issuing college or university.

    You also need to decide how you want to receive your admissions package.

    • We strongly recommend that you choose express mailing for your admissions package. This is the fastest and most secure way to receive your documents, and you will be able to track their location once they have been shipped.
