Do you want to study English as a Second Language before pursuing your bachelor’s degree at IUP? Do you need to pass the TOEFL test before starting an undergraduate degree program?
International students can be provisionally admitted to a bachelor’s degree program if all of IUP’s admission requirements are met except for proof of English proficiency.
Students with provisional admission can study at the American Language Institute at IUP until they are ready to begin the Bridge program or meet English proficiency requirements for full-time undergraduate study through a language exam.
To qualify for the Bridge Program, students must submit a qualifying exam score (TOEFL ITP 480, TOEFL iBT 54, or IELTS 5.0). Bridge students can demonstrate English proficiency for full admission by completing nine credit hours including English 101 with a 2.0 or higher GPA.
