A popular destination for IUP students, the Writing Center provides a variety of free services and resources to help students develop their writing skills as well as a quiet, comfortable environment to get creative juices flowing.
Services provided by the Writing Center include:
- Tutoring: Improve your writing in a one-on-one with an undergraduate or graduate student tutor who is trained and qualified to help you with every stage of composing your paper, from creating a rough draft to proofreading.
- Writing resources: Find help sheets to aid you in polishing your writing, learn how to cite on-line and off-line sources in your papers, write high-quality research papers, create attention-grabbing résumés, and more
- Workshops: Participate with Writing Center tutors in a workshop that offers insights on the writing skills you need to succeed in your college career and beyond.
- ESL writers: Learn the conventions of American academic styles of writing, talk with a tutor about your writing, and develop your spoken and written English skills.
