A popular destination for IUP students, especially in the weeks leading up to finals, the Writing Center provides a variety of free services and resources to help students develop their writing skills as well as a quiet, comfortable environment to get their creative juices flowing.
Services provided by the Writing Center include:
- Writing resources: Includes a range of resources to help you polish your grammar and punctuation skills, learn how to cite on-line and off-line sources within your papers, write high-quality academic and research papers, create attention-grabbing résumés, and more.
- Tutoring: A free, thirty- to forty-minute, one-on-one session with an undergraduate or graduate student who is trained and qualified to help you with every stage of composing your paper, from creating a rough draft to proofreading.
- Workshops: Led by Writing Center tutors, a workshop offers you detailed insights on the various writing skills you will need to succeed at every stage of your university education.
- ESL writers: Specially designed to help students familiarize themselves with the American style of writing, this resource covers different aspects of writing academic and research papers, grammar, and more.
