Women’s Commission

Speakers and attendees from the Women's Conference

The President’s Commission on the Status of Women at IUP is part of a larger network of such commissions at all 14 member universities of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.

All are charged with examining the status of women at the individual universities, identifying areas that need improvement, recommending solutions for problems, promoting networking, and encouraging leadership among women.

Women’s Conference: The President’s Commission on the Status of Women at IUP hosts an annual conference focused on the personal and professional development of women.
Women in Mathematics, Science, and Technology Program: A part of Research Appreciation Week, this College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics program highlights scholarly accomplishments of female undergraduate/graduate students and faculty members.
In Sisterhood: The Women’s Movement in Pittsburgh: These concurrent multimedia exhibitions illustrate the rise of movements for gender and racial equality in politics, labor organizations, and civic life.
