Starting in 2006, IUP embarked on one of the largest housing projects of its kind in the nation. Known as the Residential Revival, the project has created comfortable and attractive suite-style housing conveniently located in the heart of campus.
Over 80 percent of the freshmen who live on campus live in one of the suites. Each building offers six different, fully furnished, suite-style living units, with the following features:
Some traditional housing options are also available to students. While also offering Internet access, cable TV, lounges, and recreational areas, they do have communal bathrooms and don’t feature the in-room kitchenette.
We will show you at least one style of residence hall suite if you come to campus for a tour. Not too long ago, some students made this video where they show you a few different buildings and room styles—you might want to check it out!
In addition to their comfortable living conditions, the suite-style buildings offer a living-learning experience.
Our students have the option of joining a living-learning community—a group of students living in a specially themed residence hall, floor, or wing and participating in engaging learning activities specially designed for those students’ interests.
Also, on the ground floors of four of the suite buildings are a variety of academic and student support offices, such as the Office of International Education, the IT Support Center, and the African American Cultural Center.
Study lounges, resource rooms, and a multipurpose room are in each building, providing space for study sessions, academic advising, lectures, performances, exhibits, and more.
Community assistants live on each floor, and peer mentors can assist new students with their academic and personal adjustment to college life.
Living-learning provides a dynamic learning environment in which students feel supported and in touch with faculty and staff, as well as with other students.
