There are many different types of content management systems from which to choose. After an exhaustive study by a committee consisting of faculty and staff members, the university chose to invest in the services of Ciber, Inc., an international company that will implement Ektron, a content management system that is used at many universities across the country.
A CMS manages the content of a web site, allowing the content manager or author, who may not know HTML, to manage the creation, modification, and removal of content from a web site without needing the expertise of a technical expert. Features include format management, revision control, and indexing, search, and retrieval.
