Cory Shay: Director, Military and Veterans Resource Center

IUP is committed to providing military-friendly programs and services to our veteran and military-affiliated students.

The Military and Veterans Resource Center, working collaboratively with IUP programs and services, serves as a one-stop information and referral site to help our students transition to college life and achieve their academic goals.

IUP's Military Resource Center and Veterans Affairs Office's mission is to provide personalized and caring support to IUP student veterans during their transition from military service to college life. The MVRC helps veterans and military-affiliated students navigate IUP and aid with VA educational benefits, as well as gives veteran students the tools to succeed academically and personally. The MVRC increases campus awareness of student veteran issues and fosters a sense of camaraderie, community, and well-being for all veterans, military-affiliated students, and their families.

The MVRC opened on April 4, 2014. Watch the opening ceremony.

Effective on August 22, 2016, the name of the Military Resource Center and Veteran Affairs Benefits Office was changed to the Military and Veterans Resource Center. This new name is reflective of a change that occurred in January 2016, when the Veterans Affairs Benefits Office was moved into the Military Resource Center, allowing IUP to consolidate the services provided to veterans, military, and dependent students. This name change also reflects the number one service that the MVRC provides to our students—helping them obtain their GI Bill benefits. Thank you to everyone for your help and support of our military and veteran students. The MVRC as of August 2021 has moved to a new location. The new MVRC is located in Suites of Maple East G62. The new space has provided more room and resources to better serve IUP's military students.
