Office of Veterans Affairs

The Veterans Affairs Office is dedicated to serving student veterans and dependents of veterans.

To begin the processing of your Veterans’ benefits, please complete and return to our office the following items:

  1. Submit/send a copy of Certified DD-214 or DD-2384 and
  2. College Fund Contract (Kicker) if applicable.
  3. Application for Benefits — Select the form you are required to complete.
  • VA 22-1990 Form I am a veteran or reservist and am requesting first-time benefits.
  • VA 22-1995 Form I am a veteran or reservist and am requesting a change of program or place of training.
  • VA 22-5490 Form I am a child/spouse of a deceased or disabled veteran.
  • VA 22-5495 Form I am a child/spouse of a deceased or disabled veteran and am requesting a change of program or place of training.

Pennsylvania National Guard FTA (Federal Tuition Assistance) and EAP (Education Assistance Program)
Members of the National Guard can apply to the Education Assistance Program (EAP) and Federal Tuition Assistance Program (FTA) through their National Guard Unit. These funds can be used to pay IUP tuition and fees.
Army Reserve FTA (Federal Tuition Assistance) Information
Members of the Army Reserve can apply for the Federal Tuition Assistance Program (FTA) through their Army Reserve Unit. These funds can be used to pay IUP tuition and fees.
WAVE Program
To be used to verify your enrollment and activate your monthly direct deposit of your benefits.

Apply for Financial Aid
In addition to Veteran's benefits you may qualify for other State and Federal grants and loans by submitting a Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) Application. All students are encouraged to submit a FAFSA.
Readmission to IUP
Students with prior enrollment at IUP must apply for readmission
Admissions

Exemption to a Liberal Studies Requirement
You may be eligible for exemption to the Liberal Studies requirement Health and Wellness course.
