another winner of the PA TRIO Scholarship—Tabitha Yates, a 2015 UBMS
alumna who is a freshman pre-med major at the University of Pittsburgh.

On May 1, 2015, President Michael Driscoll and administration and faculty
members joined the Upward Bound Math and Science faculty and
students to celebrate College Signing Day, which included a
photo shoot to announce graduating seniors’ plans to attend college.

There will be an American Red Cross Blood Drive sponsored by Upward Bound Math and Science on July 9, 2013, from noon to 6:00 p.m. at the Crimson Event Center (Folger Hall).

Dr. Yvonne Branan, assistant professor for the Department of Geoscience, and Dr. Joseph Bencloski, professor in the Department of Geography and Regional Planning, enriched Upward Bound Math and Science participants with a demonstration in Math and Science application exercises at their monthly Saturday Academy on the IUP main campus.

On September 30, 2009, the Upward Bound Math and Science program held its first meeting with guidance counselors from Indiana County area high schools.

The Upward Bound Math and Science Budget in the amount of $250,000 for fiscal year 2009–2010 has been approved by the U.S Department of Education.

Sunday, June 14, 2009, was move-in day for the second annual Upward Bound Math and Science Program participants from local area high schools (Indiana, Marion Center, United, Penns Manor, and Purchase Line).
