Dave Reed '00Dave Reed is serving his fifth term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives representing the state’s 62nd Legislative District.

Rep. Reed graduated from IUP’s Robert E. Cook Honors College in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics/Economics. During his undergraduate years, he was a javelin thrower for the IUP Track and Field team and was named a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar Athlete. Rep. Reed went on to earn a Master of Governmental Administration degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

In 2002, Rep. Reed challenged a 12-year political incumbent and, in an upset, earned the seat and became the youngest member of the House.

Rep. Reed serves on the Environmental Resources and Energy, Consumer Affairs, Finance, and Appropriations committees and is the Republican chairman of the Subcommittee on Fiscal Policy. He also serves as cochair of the House Republican Policy Committee Energy Task Force.

He and his wife, Heather, have two children, Joshua and Gracie, and live in White Township.
