Mark Critz ’87

Mark Critz '87Mark Critz recently served in the Pennsylvania U.S. House of Representatives for the 12th Congressional District.

Mr. Critz earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from IUP in 1987. After graduation, he held a series of managerial positions with several retail businesses. In 1999, he joined U.S. Representative John Murtha’s team, where he continued to serve until Congressman Murtha’s death. During that time, Mr. Critz served as Congressman Murtha’s liaison to the Flight 93 Memorial committee and was on site at the Que Creek Mine disaster.

In 2008, Mr. Critz was awarded the Patrick Henry Award from the National Guard Association of the United States. It is the highest civilian award issued by the National Guard.

Born and raised in Irwn, Pa., Mr. Critz and his wife, Nancy, live in Johnstown, Pa., with their two children.
