
Juan Carlos Salcedo is honored as a 2010 Distinguished Alumnus for his international business success and his commitment to building lasting relationships with his Chinese counterparts.
In 1977, Mr. Salcedo earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from IUP. He earned his law degree, as well as a degree in Political Science, from San Andres University in La Paz, Bolivia.
He currently serves as managing director at Intensus, a company he helped found. Formed in 1996, Intensus Engineering is an international distributor of heavy equipment. The company is a joint venture with XCMG, the largest manufacturer of heavy equipment in China.
From 2004 to 2007, the company’s revenues grew 1,608 percent, prompting Inc. Magazine to name Intensus to its list of the 5,000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America. Intensus was also ranked number-four in the Top 100 Construction Companies that were part of Inc.’s larger list.
Prior to joining Intensus, Mr. Salcedo was a vice president at Earthworm Tractor Company and an attorney at YPFB State Oil Company of Bolivia.
In addition to his position with Intensus, Mr. Salcedo also serves as senior partner at Jireh Resources Company, Inc., which specializes in establishing commercial and industrial relationships, primarily in the heavy construction industry on an international basis.
Over and above the work he does in the business community, Mr. Salcedo has been involved in Christian television and radio for the past twenty years. He currently produces the nationally known Concert of Prayer, which is broadcast in Spanish and carried by nine thousand stations worldwide.
Mr. Salcedo and his wife, Linda, have two sons, Matthew and Michael. They live in Cold Spring, N.Y.
