Working for Archaeology Services [a research center based in the Anthropology Department] has been baptism by fire—in a good way.
Early on, I was working on a computer in the office, and Dr. Bev [Anthropology professor Beverly Chiarulli] must have been able to tell I was kind of bored. She said, “Want to try something else? We have the GPR [ground penetrating radar] and all these other fun things.” That’s when we started going to the Dividing Ridge site in Derry Township.
Dr. Bev has been a great mentor. She takes a real interest in students and places so much trust in us. We often go to the site to work by ourselves.
