Like many, I wanted to study archaeology initially because of the Indiana Jones movies.
When I was two, my dad and I would have Indiana Jones-style rescues in our back yard. I fell in love with the idea of archaeology and travel.
Then, in my first class, my professor asked, “How many of you are here because of Indiana Jones?… Well, you’re in the wrong place.” It’s not guns and whips. It’s not glamorous. But being able to uncover our past is so incredibly rewarding.
