What You'll Do
The global business world is a world of opportunity, both for businesses and for a college student choosing a major. As an International Business major at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, you’ll gain a thorough understanding of global operations in today’s business environment.
Among the business core classes you’ll take are Accounting Principles I and II, Legal Environment of Business, Fundamentals of Finance, Business Policy, Principles of Marketing, Production and Operations Management, and Business Statistics. You’ll also take courses that coincide with a concentration area (Finance, Human Resources Management, or Marketing).
In this major, you’ll learn to navigate the international world of business and will develop skills in a traditional business area through your concentration.
What You'll Become
The Bachelor of Science in International Business degree prepares you for a career in the global business market. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the growth of international business has led to an increase in demand for management analysts. Businesses hire management analysts to help them develop strategies for entering the international market, to advise them on laws for specific countries, and to help them with other business concerns, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Employment of management analysts is expected to increase 22 percent from 2006 to 2016, which is much faster than the average for all job categories, according to the labor report. This growth comes as industry and government rely more and more frequently on outside sources such as consulting firms, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
