IUP's Master of Science in Nursing program is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Education. It is designed to prepare registered nurses for advanced practice nursing roles as administrators or educators, and serves as a foundation for doctoral study.
Alumni of the Education Track are nurse educators, patient educators, or nursing staff developers in a variety of academic and health care settings. These settings include LPN, diploma, associate, and bachelor’s degree nursing programs; and hospitals, long-term care, and rehabilitation facilities.
Alumni of the Administration Track hold leadership positions in a variety of health care settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, home health agencies, and rehabilitation facilities. Administrators have a critical role in health care decision making; in managing health care members, patients, and finances; and in evaluating outcomes.
