What You’ll Do
As a student in the Eberly College of Business and Information Technology you will experience a concentrated program of business courses which includes accounting, law, communications, finance, management, marketing, and information technology. Furthermore, you will experience a second concentrated program of education courses which includes educational psychology, methods for teaching business, education of students with disabilities, and technology applications for education. Extensive field experiences in elementary, middle, and high schools will enable you to integrate your business knowledge with your teacher training.
You will participate in professional development activities including community service projects, participation at professional conferences, and assisting at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) conferences. To enhance your business expertise, you will complete 500 hours of business related work experience.
What You’ll Become
The Bachelor of Science in Education with a Business Education major is designed to prepare you for a career as a teacher. Accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), this program leads to Pennsylvania teacher certification in business, computer, and information technology for grades K–12.
The major is intended for those interested in teaching in public schools, career and technical centers, or private business colleges.
