What to Wear
Dress is casual for Phase Two Orientation. However, you should not wear sandals, flip flops, or any other type of open-toed shoes as you will be in the kitchens.
What to Bring
- notebook
- pen
- lock for your locker
- local address and telephone number
- vehicle license plate number if you plan to have a car on campus
- final official high school transcript, health history form, and TB test results, if not already submitted
Optional
If you have successfully completed the ServSafe certification program within the last two years, you may choose to be exempted from taking Sanitation Management (exempted students will receive a grade of “P” for pass). To be considered for this exemption, we need a copy of your certificate. You will not be officially exempt from the course until this information has been received and reviewed. If you have not submitted your certificate yet, you must do so prior to classes beginning.
Where to Park
Students driving to Phase Two Orientation should park in the gravel lot adjacent to the Academy. Phase Two will start at the Fairman Centre, one block east of the Academy.
Transportation to Phase Two Sessions on Saturday and Sunday
Transportation will be provided to those students living in the Living Center who need a ride to Phase Two Orientation.
The vans will depart:
- Learning Center at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
- Learning Center at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Activities for the Day
Phase Two Orientation activities will include:
- Introduction to Culinary faculty and staff
- Review of academy policies and procedures
- Distribution of the remainder of your supply package, including your uniforms, textbooks, and knife kit
- Students with Stafford Loans will have an opportunity to complete the required entrance interview
- Pizza lunch
