David Reddecliff ’82

David Reddecliff '82David Reddecliff presently serves as director of Administration for Leaders, Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from IUP in 1982 and became a campaign coordinator in the Fourth District of the U.S. House of Representatives. He worked as a staff assistant for the Governor Dick Thornburgh Inaugural Committee and as a district staff assistant to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. In 1983, he was named research analyst and, six months later, executive director for the House Conservation Committee.

In 1985, Reddecliff became a legislative assistant to the Republican caucus administrator, a post he held for nine years, and he also served on the legislative reapportionment staff. He also completed course work in connection with the Institute of Real Estate Studies. He obtained his Pennsylvania real estate salesperson license in 1987. He also continued real estate studies at Harrisburg Area Community College and joined Century 21 as a part-time realtor. He was named 1987 Rookie of the Year for Century 21–At The Helm Realtors.

He was named executive director to the Majority Caucus chairman in 1994 and became the executive assistant to the Majority appropriations chairman in 2002. He served two years as the chief of staff to the Majority Whip before his current position.

Reddecliff was first appointed to the IUP Alumni Association board to fill a vacancy and was elected to four-year terms in 2000 and 2004. He served as chairman of the Government Relations and Awards committees and as secretary and vice president of the board.

He is a current member of the IUP Alumni Association Executive Committee and an admissions recruitment representative. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania State System Alumni Advocacy Council and serves on its Executive Committee and formerly served as vice president.

A member of the Paxton United Methodist Church, he served on various church committees and was vice chairman of the Church Council and chairman of the Finance Committee. He has also served as a youth soccer and baseball coach and as an area council member and charter organization representative of Boys Scouts of America.

A native of Johnstown, he resides in Harrisburg with his wife, Carole, and their children, Andrew, Maggie, and Hannah.

Reddecliff is a 2008 recipient of the IUP Distinguished Alumni Award.
