Early Admission to Graduate Programs

This program is for highly motivated and successful IUP undergraduates who wish to continue their studies in a graduate program at IUP.

Applicants must have at least a 3.25 GPA to be considered for early admission and must have completed at least 15 credit hours in their undergraduate major. Visit IUP’s Graduate Catalog for the Early Admission to Graduate Program Policy.

Instructions for Applying

  • Select Apply Online to complete the online graduate school Web application (including a nonrefundable $50 application fee).
  • Select Graduate School for the Application Type.
  • The Admission Term to select should be the term which falls immediately after your undergraduate graduation date. For example, a graduation in May 2015 would apply for Summer or Fall 2015 term.
  • Complete the section titled Current IUP Students. This will help determine eligibility to the program (GPA, number of credits earned).
  • Send supporting documentation to graduate-admissions@iup.edu.

Financial Aid

If you receive financial aid, please contact the Office of Financial Aid to inquire how early admission may affect your aid during the fourth/final year of undergraduate study when you would be taking both undergraduate and graduate level coursework simultaneously.
