An Education of True Value
At IUP, we are committed to ensuring no student is denied a world-class university education because of cost. We do everything we can to keep our tuition costs competitive without compromising the quality of the educational experience we offer. In addition, we disburse more than $111 million every year in financial aid. This is one reason why an IUP education is considered an investment of true value by a variety of respected sources, including Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine, Arco’s Dollarwise Guide to American Colleges, Barron’s Best Buys in College Education, The New York Times, Money magazine, and U.S. News and World Report.

Financial Assistance
Even at our highly competitive tuition rate, college is still a big investment. Our Financial Aid office provides resources and assistance throughout the financial aid process. A few facts to consider:
- In the 2006–2007 academic year, IUP distributed more than $120 million in financial aid in the form of grants, loans, scholarships, and work-study programs.
- More than 70 percent of IUP students receive some type of financial aid. Students must submit their completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 15 for maximum financial aid consideration at IUP. Please refer to the FAFSA for other state and/or federal deadlines. The average amount of aid awarded in recent years was approximately $9,000.
