Computer-Based Testing

  • University Testing Services provides certification and licensure testing for IUP students and the general public.

    All computer-based tests are administered in the University Testing Center, located in Pratt Hall, Suite 107.  The quiet and comfortable center has two designated testing rooms that can accommodate up to 11 test takers at a time.

    As a Prometic and PearsonVUE certified test center we are able to offer a wide variety of computer-based exams including, but not limited to:

  • CLEP
    Helps students earn credit for what they already know, regardless of how that knowledge was acquired.
    GRE
    Used for admission to many graduate programs.
    GMAT
    Assists graduate schools in assessing the qualifications of applicants for advanced study in business and management.
    MAT
    Assesses your ability to recognize relationships between ideas, your fluency in the English language, and your general knowledge of literature, philosophy, history, science, mathematics, and fine arts. It is a computer-based test used for graduate admissions.
    Praxis
    Provides tests and other services for states to use as part of the teacher licensing and certification process.
    TOEFL
    Evaluates the English proficiency of people whose native language is not English.
    ACSM
    American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) credentialing is the most respected in the health and fitness industry.
    PAPA Pre-service Academic Performance Assessment
    Replaces Praxis I for reading, mathematics, and writing skills for all teacher candidates.
    PECT Pennsylvania Educator Certification Tests
    The PECT replaces Praxis II tests for PreK-4, Special Education PreK-8, and Special Education, 7-12.
