Theater And Dance Students Perform in Large-Scale Mass Shooting Simulation

In collaboration with IUP’s Nursing and Allied Health program, students of the Theater and Dance Department’s SPATE ensemble (simulated patient/applied theater) performed as simulated patients in a large-scale scenario depicting the aftermath of a mass shooting.

IUP Alumnus Burk Performing One-Man Show September 23

Brandon Burk, a professional actor who graduated from IUP with a degree in theater, will perform his one-person show “Invention” on Friday, September 23, in the HUB Ohio Room. The performance is free to the public and is part of his nearly week-long residency with students and faculty.

“Delirium,” a Riff on “The Brothers Karamazov”

The university and Indiana communities are invited to a showcase performance of “Delirium” on Friday, August 12, in Waller Hall. The play is coproduced by IUP’s Theater-by-the-Grove and EgoPo, an ensemble theater company from Philadelphia.

Collecting Pajamas for Local Children

The Pajama Program is an organization that collects new books and pajamas for local, underprivileged children and their families. This drive is being conducted in the Indiana community and on the IUP campus.

Dance Performance at Carnegie Museum Rescheduled

Due to weather conditions, the workshop and performance by the IUP Dance Theater at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History for February 6, 2010, was postponed and is now rescheduled for Saturday, February 20, 2010. The student dance ensemble will perform scenes from Out of the Deep, a work originated by choreographer Holly Boda-Sutton in collaboration with poet Rosaly Roffman and composer David Berlin.
