NCATE for WebIUP’s teacher education programs are recognized both nationally and regionally recognized.

NCATE accreditation is a process of peer review that the educational community has adopted for its self-regulation. It is a voluntary process intended to strengthen and sustain the quality and integrity of teacher preparation programs, making it worthy of public confidence. Once accredited by NCATE, IUP teacher preparation programs agree to abide by the standards of NCATE and to take responsibility for their own continuous improvement. Please visit our NCATE (National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education) Electronic Exhibit Room for more information about our accreditation. Forms, accreditation criteria, and other information important for preparation for reaccredidation will be available on this site. Many of our teacher preparation programs are also recognized by their Specialized Professional Associations or SPAs.
