Once accepted to IUP, students are invited to participate in the five-week academy, which runs from early July through early August. First-year Summer Scholars enrolling in two 3-credit courses and a 1-credit Emerging Leaders Seminar will live as a community in one of the suite-style residence facilities on campus, Wallwork Hall.
A variety of academic enrichment programs, including finals preparation and study sessions, a service-learning project, recreational and outdoor activities, and field trips to regional attractions such as Ohiopyle, Gettysburg, and Kennywood Park will be offered as part of the Academy programming (dependent on group interests).
