  • Active Duty
    IUP Policy for enrolled students called to active military service.
    Audit Policy
    Students who audit courses have the opportunity to attend classes, but will not receive a grade or credit for the course.
    Changing Your Major
    Please see the Undergraduate Catalog for change of major guidelines.
    Course Scheduling Preference for Veterans
    This policy complies with PA Act 46 and defines the requirements for veteran students and others to receive course scheduling preference under Act 46.
    Credit Hour
    Definition of academic credit hour as defined by the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education and the federal government.
    D-F Repeat
    Please see the Undergraduate Catalog to review the Course Repeat Policy for D and F grades.
    Excess Credits
    A full-time semester for undergraduate students is 12–17 credits; for graduate students it is 9–15 credits. Undergraduate and graduate students wishing to enroll in additional credits must obtain approval from the college dean.
    The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) affords students certain rights with respect to their education records.
    The final examination week is part of the regular academic program and must be incorporated into each instructor’s course plan for the semester.
    Grade Appeal Policy
    The Grade Appeal Policy provides a mechanism for grade review under conditions associated specifically with discrimination or with capricious evaluation.
