  • Active Duty
    IUP Policy for enrolled students called to active military service.
    Audit Policy
    Students who audit courses have the opportunity to attend classes, but will not receive a grade or credit for the course.
    Canceled Semester Policy
    The Canceled Semester Policy provides for cancellation from the cumulative record of the effects of one semester below a GPA of 2.00 for the purpose of helping a student improve academic standing.
    Changing Your Major

    Course Scheduling Preference for Veterans
    This policy complies with PA Act 46 and defines the requirements for veteran students and others to receive course scheduling preference under Act 46.
    Credit Hour
    Definition of academic credit hour as defined by the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education and the federal government.
    D-F Repeat
    Please see the Undergraduate Catalog to review the Course Repeat Policy for D and F grades.
    Excess Credits
    An undergraduate student who wishes to schedule 18 or more credits must obtain approval from the dean of the college of the student's major.
    FERPA
    The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) affords students certain rights with respect to their education records.
    FERPA Recap
    Can I have a recap of the FERPA basics? Absolutely!1.FERPA is a federal law which protects the confidentiality of students’ educational records.2.You have a responsibility to protect the educational records in your possession.3.If you come across a situation which may be in violation of FERPA, contact your supervisor.
