As a reminder, Bill Strickland, author of the 2009 Common Freshman Reader, Make the Impossible Possible, will present his personal story in a lecture today, November 17, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium. A reception and book-signing session will follow. The event is free and open to the community.

Some last-minute schedule changes resulted in the Monday, October 19, 2009, hosting by Ms. Rita Evans, who will discuss “Financial Literacy” as part of the Six O’Clock Series. Previously, Dr. Kelly Mack was scheduled to present on the topic of “Women in Science.” Unfortunately, that program has been postponed.

Eight August 2009 graduates of the Master of Science in Health Services Administration program at IUP have had their book review of the Common Freshman Reader, Make the Impossible Possible, accepted for publication in the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved.

The Six O’Clock Series opens its fall lineup with Mike Green’s presentation “One Night Can Have a Lifetime of Consequences.” Starting at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2009, Green will take his audience on a humorous journey discussing alcohol, college social life, and the effects they can have.
