Programming and Events

  • The Center for Multicultural Student Leadership and Engagement plans and coordinates events consistent with its mission statement: the promotion of diverse opportunities that encourage personal and community growth through leadership development and individual and group accountability.

    Welcome Weekend

Welcome Weekend is a special time for new students to become better acquainted with IUP and with one another. The events will help new students begin to feel at home at IUP. Incoming students will connect with other students and become familiar with campus and the many resources available, as well as enjoy fun festivities held each day!

    IUP Day

IUP Day allows students to explore ways of getting involved at IUP and allows for each recognized student organization to increase awareness of its mission and potentially its membership base.

    Homecoming

The Programming and Events office assists in the coordination of the parade in addition to working with other offices such as Student Affairs, Athletics, and Alumni Affairs to create a positive homecoming experience for the entire IUP community.

    Homecoming Monte Carlo Night

The Homecoming Monte Carlo Night is an incredible night full of dancing, casino games, prizes, food, and so much more! The 2016 Homecoming Monte Carlo Night will be held on Saturday, October 15, from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at the Kovalchick Complex. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Kovalchick Complex Box Office, the Center for Multicultural Student Leadership and Engagement in 307 Pratt Hall, or at IUP Day!

    Six O’Clock Series

The Six O’Clock Series provides IUP students, employees, and community members an opportunity to learn about current issues and approach familiar topics from a new perspective.

    Safety Planning for Campus Events

Organizations planning a campus event requiring safety and security provisions such as university police, electronic screening requirements and others must file a Safety Planning Form through the Center for Multicultural Student Leadership and Engagement for Campus Events.

    Campuswide Special Events

The Office for Student Leadership provides programming guides, guidance, and support for organizations planning a campuswide event.

Requesting Use of Outdoor Campus Space

The Center for Multicultural Student Leadership and Engagement processes requests for the use of outdoor space on the IUP campus. Requests are reviewed to ensure the safety of the IUP community, the protection of IUP grounds, and respect for the mission of the university.

Event Setup: Do I Have to Pay?

Office of Facilities Management helps organizations, offices, and individuals requesting use of outdoor space understand if there are costs involved in their space request outside normal business hours.

For more events, check the Student Events Calendar, the Academic Calendar, and the Central Calendar.
