Getting involved in campus activities can help you to develop lasting friendships, make career connections, and keep a healthy balance between your schoolwork and personal life.

As you can see, there are plenty of things to do on campus that will keep your calendar full. Additional activities for students may be found in the campus-events e-mail, sent to students each morning.

Events

Mark your calendar for Homecoming, IUP Day, and “OnStage” and Lively Arts productions involving music, theater, dance, and more. With a variety of concerts—from IUP music ensembles to internationally touring professionals—you’re sure to find something to your liking.

The Common Freshman Reader program offers lectures, contests, and other activities, while the Office of Service Learning and the Center for Civic Engagement and Student Leadership can connect you with volunteer opportunities such as Into the Streets. And, at 6:00 on Mondays, you can learn from a variety of lectures and speakers during the Six O’Clock Series.

IUP Athletics, Intramurals, and Club Sports

In addition to IUP football, swimming, and other varsity sports offered through IUP Athletics, intramurals and club sports are popular with students with different athletic tastes. Rugby, boxing, men’s soccer, and cycling are among the offerings.

Clubs and Organizations

No matter your interests, one of IUP’s more than two hundred clubs and organizations is sure to suit you. You may already be aware of activities such as marching band, sororities and fraternities (Greek life), Dance Explosion, cheerleading, and Drill Team.

Some of our popular club choices are the rifle, martial arts, exercise science, video game, and ski clubs. You can exchange language and culture in the Conversation Club, experience outdoor adventures with the Outing Club, and take trips with the Discovery Club.

And, a number of campus and community religious groups are available to you, so, if religion is central to your life, it can continue to be at college.
