The student conduct system at IUP is designed to be non-adversarial, with the intent of promoting behavioral change in the student while protecting the rights of the members of the university community.

When responding to behavior that violates federal, state, and local laws and ordinances, the Office of Student Conduct does not replace the criminal justice system or other legal responses; rather, the office adjudicates alleged behaviors separately from any legal action that is taken. Students and recognized organizations that violate law and university policy should expect to be held accountable for their behavior through both the legal system and the university student conduct system.

University policies and regulations are provided in The Source: A Student Policy Guide. Individuals who desire a hard copy of The Source: A Student Policy Guide should contact the Office of Student Conduct in Pratt Hall, Room 307.

Expectations, duties, and assignments include: completion of hearing officer training, attendance of monthly hearing officer meetings, regularly adjudicating formal administrative student conduct hearings, completion of all hearing paperwork promptly and accurately, completion of student conduct board training, service as a student conduct board member (as possible), regular meetings with site supervisor, and completion of project work for the Office of Student Conduct as negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
