The Department of Spanish offers three majors, two minors, and an Honors Track. Many IUP students choose to double major in Spanish in order to enhance their job prospects in fields of business, criminology, social services, and tourism.

- B.A. in Spanish
- Students following the B.A. in Spanish program will acquire proficiency in all phases of the language and enter more deeply into the history, culture, and literature of Spanish-speaking countries.
- B.A. in Spanish for International Trade
- The degree program provides solid undergraduate degree training preparatory to an MBA in International Management.
- B.S.Ed. in Secondary Spanish Education
- The Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education/Spanish Program prepares students to teach Spanish in the secondary classroom or in Foreign Language in the Elementary School (FLES) programs.
- Spanish Honors Program
- The honors program is open by departmental permission to Spanish and Secondary Spanish Education majors with a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA and a 3.25 GPA in Spanish courses.
- Minor in Spanish
- The Spanish minor consists of a 22-credit course of study covering intermediate Spanish language, Hispanic literature, and Spanish culture.
- Minor in Spanish for Elementary Teaching
- Elementary Education majors may earn a minor in Spanish for Elementary Teaching which will prepare them to teach in elementary programs in which content teaching in the Spanish language is the objective.
