Summer 2010 cohort in Indiana, Pa.—Now recruiting!
With a focus on leadership in nonprofit and public sectors, the ALS Ph.D. program is designed to educate administrators who work in a wide variety of settings, including health and human services and higher education. The cohort-based program admits between fifteen and twenty students at a time. They generally take two classes per semester (although full-time study is an option) throughout the year, including the summer. Classes are offered evenings and/or weekends and are designed to accommodate the schedules of working professionals.
The Ph.D. program in Administration and Leadership Studies began in 1998. Taught by an interdisciplinary faculty, the program is housed in the Department of Sociology and offered in collaboration with the department of Economics.
Each year a cohort of students is admitted at one of the two program sites on even years at the main campus in Indiana, PA (about sixty miles east of Pittsburgh), and on the alternate years at the off-site program in the state capital, Harrisburg, PA. See Studying in Harrisburg to learn more about the program.
