The Social Equity and Title IX office encourages students and employees to attend an online, Indiana community event celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. The Indiana County NAACP's annual MLK program will take place Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. via Zoom. Preregistration is required for this free event.

Martin Luther King, Jr. speaking during the March on WashingtonThis year's program theme is “Engagement, Action, Acceptance, Progress: A Cultural Explosion.” Special guest artist is IUP alumna Tieshay Skinner, a writer, poet, and performing artist who released her first studio album, Unsung Blxckbyrd, (as Tieshay Cheryl) in 2019.

The program will also feature reflections on King's life and work, a performance by the Community Children's Choir, video entries for the MLK Spoken Word Contest, and more.
