Educational and School Psychology students and professor

ALL CORE FACULTY PRACTICED AS SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGISTS  Professor Joseph Kovaleski explains a concept to his students, bringing many years of practical experience to his teaching. He's been a school psychologist, preschool coordinator, director of special services, supervisor of clinical services, and director of pupil services, among other positions in the field.

Helping graduate students succeed through scholarship, research, and hands-on practice

There are currently eight faculty members in the Education and School Psychology Department. Because we are a practitioner-oriented program, all of our core professors have practiced as school psychologists. Our faculty bring different and varied areas of interest and expertise to the department including:

  • Response to intervention
  • School-wide positive behavioral support
  • Violence and aggression in schools
  • School-based mental health
  • Early childhood

Our professors involve graduate students in their research, invite them to attend state and national conventions, and work diligently to support them in all of their efforts.

All graduate students work with an advisor from the Department of Educational and School Psychology.
