Lieutenant Colonel Jason R.
Freidt is the department chair and professor of Military Science at Indiana
University of Pennsylvania.
A native of Temecula, California,
LTC Freidt received his commission as an Armor officer from the United States
Military Academy at West Point, New York, in June 1996. His previous
assignments include: Special assistant to the Commanding General, United States
Army Europe, Wiesbaden, Germany; secretary of the General Staff, V (US) Corps,
Wiesbaden, Germany; executive officer to the Deputy Commanding General, V (US)

Lieutenant Colonel Freidt holds a
Bachelor of Science Degree in American Legal Studies from the United States
Military Academy and a Master of Science in Administration (Organizational
Leadership) from Central Michigan University. His military education includes the U.S. Army
Command and General Staff College, the U.S. Army Red Team Leader Course, Armor
Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, the Infantry Mortar Leader Course, and the Combined
Armed Services Staff School.
His awards and decorations
include: three Bronze Star Medals, four Meritorious Service Medals, four Army
Commendation Medals, four Army Achievement Medals, two National Defense Service
Medals, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal,
the Kosovo Campaign Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on
Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, two
Overseas Service Ribbons, the Army Service Ribbon, the NATO Medal, the Air
Assault Badge, and the Combat Action Badge.
Lieutenant Colonel Freidt and his
wife, the former Barbara (Bobbie) Hoessle, have twin daughters, Parker and Emma,
and a son, Hudson. They currently reside
in Indiana, Pennsylvania.
