The following is an ongoing opportunity with the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Nursing and Allied Health Department.

The Positions: The Department of Nursing and Allied Health Professions at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) invites applicants for several tenure track positions at the Assistant/Associate rank and several temporary positions on the nursing faculty beginning August 2009. The positions will be filled pending availability of funds. Candidates should demonstrate clinical expertise in one of the following specialties: adult health, advanced medical-surgical nursing, maternal child nursing, psychiatric nursing or community nursing. The candidates may be required to teach a variety of core and support courses throughout the curriculum. Expanding programs provide exciting opportunities for faculty to teach in undergraduate, masters and PhD nursing programs. IUP offers CCNE accredited programs leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing (education and administration tracks).

Qualifications: Specific requirements for tenure-track positions: Doctorate in nursing or related fields. Tenure track candidates must have doctorate degree by time of appointment. Candidates must also possess a master’s degree in nursing and a current RN license or eligibility for endorsement. An established track record of teaching, scholarship, and service is preferred. Requirements for temporary positions: candidates must possess a master’s degree in nursing or be actively pursuing a master’s degree in nursing.

All candidates must communicate effectively and perform well during the interview(s), which will include a teaching demonstration. All applicants must be work eligible. The successful candidate may be assigned to perform work at off-campus sites and/or provide instruction through distance education.

IUP is classified as a Carnegie Doctoral/Research University and is the largest of the 14 schools in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education with over 14,000 students.
